Tia looks up at the stars in the night, and thinks about the past.

Tia lay down on the grass, looking up at the dark indigo sky. The moon had risen, and the stars were just beginning to appear. The forest clearing she had chosen to camp out in was perfect for some late-evening stargazing.
Naito had fallen asleep cuddled in the space between her neck and shoulder, snoring lightly. Tia gently stroked him on the head and smiled. A soft hum sounded nearby. She looked over and saw Aura, her shiny Umbreon, soaking in the moon’s rays and glowing a bright, cyan blue. It was a beautiful sight.
She turned her attention back to the stars in the sky. There was a time, when she was a child, when she dreamed of going into space. She had grown up in Mossdeep, in Hoenn, where the skies were always clear, and rockets were constantly launching into space.
It was on one of those clear, sunny days, while on a field trip to the Mossdeep Space Center, that she had seen Steven Stone, the Hoenn Region’s Pokemon League Champion, give a lecture on space rocks, and on the possibility of finding Pokemon in space. She had also seen an exhibit on Poke Balls from Sinnoh that were over 150 years old, with iron clasps and steam holes on the top that resembled rockets when activated.
All of it had inspired the young Tia and had given her a dream and a goal to work toward: to become a researcher like her parents and develop a Poke Ball that could catch Pokemon in space.
Not long after that, Tia’s parents made the switch from working for Devon to working for Silph, prompting a move from Hoenn to Kanto. Despite this, Tia never lost the desire to do something special for Pokemon in space.
A Poke Ball that could catch Pokemon in space. Maybe she would make it a reality one day.
The references to Hoenn should give a clue as to when this series takes place. The events of Generations 1, 2 and 3 take place in Tia's childhood, while the Crystal Clear rom hack takes place in the present - about 10 years later.
