Tia investigates a sinister aura around the Lavender Radio Tower at night.
Tia walked beside a large, chain-link fence, trying hard to look normal. At the same time, she looked for a hole or a break in the fence. Finding one, she squeezed through and emerged on the other side. She looked around, squinting in the dark, then pulled a flashlight from her pack and turned it on.
She sighed. What was she doing here, skulking about in the dark like a crazy person? Especially at night, in a place she definitely wasn’t supposed to be at night. The back lot of the Lavender Radio Tower was desolately empty, except for a large dumpster, and eerily quiet.
No one seemed to be around, which seemed ridiculous to Tia – the Goldenrod Radio Tower had been invaded by Team Rocket years ago, and yet they still kept a night watch around. But this place was virtually empty at night.
She looked around again, just the same. She pulled out a Moon Ball, and tossed it lightly in the air. “Come out, Aura!” The Moon Ball opened to reveal a shiny, black and cyan blue Umbreon.
Tia let Aura wander around for a moment, then asked, “Do you sense anything?”
Earlier that day, Tia had visited the Lavender Radio Tower, and something had given off such a sinister vibe that Aura had come out of her Poke Ball on her own, bristling with anger. Tia had then decided to visit the place again at night, to keep prying eyes away.
On second thought, she might have made a serious mistake.
Aura continued to wander around, and Tia followed. She couldn’t help but think of how this place was once a sacred place: the Pokemon Tower. Her friend Kit had once told her a depressing story about a Cubone who lost its mother and then found her at the Pokemon Tower as a ghost. It made her wonder what other Pokemon still wandered the Radio Tower as ghosts, long after the building was converted. How many of them were angry that their rest was disturbed…
Tia shook her head violently. She was being ridiculous – there was no such thing as ghosts. Ghost-type Pokemon, yes, but not actual ghosts. The disturbance Aura had felt earlier must have been some kind of Ghost-type Pokemon-
Aura bristled and let out a low growl. She was focused on something behind the large dumpster. Tia turned her flashlight beam toward it, revealing a Meowth, feasting on the remains of a fish.
Tia laughed. “It’s only a Pokemon, Aura,” she said, “there’s nothing to be scared about-”
“BOOOO!”
Tia screamed as a large, blue-green ball of gas rocketed out of the dumpster and flew into her face. It went right through her, giving her a chill. She regained her composure enough to watch the ball fly through the air, flitting here and there like a hummingbird.
“Aura, use Crunch!” Tia called out.
The attack hit the ball of gas head-on, causing it to flicker. The ball then morphed into a tiny, exhausted Misdreavus, which slowly sank to the ground.
Tia pulled out a Dusk Ball and threw it, catching the Misdreavus before it hit the ground. The ball wobbled once, then clicked shut.
Tia let out a deep breath, and picked up the Dusk Ball. Faint voices came from the front of the building and sounded as if they were coming closer.
“Let’s get out of here, Aura!” Tia whispered.
Later, at the Pokemon Center, Tia finally checked the Dusk Ball’s capture data.
Misdreavus

Tia remembered the chill from her head to her toes as the Misdreavus passed through her. She thought of the sinister feeling Aura had before it had appeared. And she wondered whether or not catching it was a good idea after all.
