Video Games
I've never been a hardcore gamer. My gaming headspace has always been firmly stuck in between the 16 and 32 bit eras: pixel art, turn-based JRPGs, and platformers. Granted, I do play some newer games, but they're mostly either Pokemon, remastered re-releases on Steam, or gacha-based JRPGs. Most games give me anxiety, so I tend to play calm and cozy games that don't require super reflex control (or games with either an easy mode or casual mode!)
Interestingly enough, when playing retro games, I prefer to play games with extensive hacks and mods: QOL (quality-of-life) improvements, character customization, mods that let you change things just for the heck of it, etc. I've fallen down rabbit holes looking for games like these, as well as followed guides for modding game consoles to play these games on the original hardware. I figured I'd try documenting at least some of the crazy stuff I've collected and attempted!
