Manga

My interests in anime and manga go hand-in-hand. If there's an anime I like, more often than not I'll like the manga version of it as well. But there are many more stories in manga form that I absolutely love that don't have an anime counterpart! Or the anime version is just a short, unfinished OVA, or worse, only a music video! Sometimes the story in the anime version veers away from the manga so much that it either becomes a complete disaster (The Promised Neverland) or actually helps in some way like character development (90s Sailor Moon).

My tastes in manga run from shoujo to seinen and josei, and I have a tendency to like long-running sci-fi/fantasy epics and psychological dramas with lots of twists. Many of the series I like have either finished years ago or have been running since the late 80s or early to mid-90s.

I read manga both in physical book form and in digital. Many series are released only in digital form. Others are long out of print and expensive to get physically, and either are available affordably in digital form, or available as unofficial scans.
